YouTube is a powerful platform used for various purposes. Whether you’re looking to share your latest creative project or learn more about a specific topic, YouTube offers something.

My blog post share tips and tricks for getting the most out of your YouTube channel. Tips to ensure your videos have the best chance of getting views.

Tips For Publishing Content To YouTube

#1 Use Timestamps On Your Videos

Timestamps are chapters for your videos. They allow your visitor to skip to the part of the video they want to watch.

Here are the timestamps in my video about reducing hosting costs.

Your visitor clicks on the blue timestamp in the video description to jump to that part of your video.

How To Add Timestamps To Your YouTube Videos

Before publishing your video, include timestamps in your description. Google detects your timestamps and automatically adds them to your video.

Type ‘Timestamps:’ followed by ‘0:00 -‘. your first timestamps must always be 0:00 -. After that, you can type any time.

Here are the timestamps for my video.

#2 – Optimize Your Videos For Search

YouTube is the second-largest search engine globally. It’s essential to optimize your videos for discovery.

There are a few key things you can do to optimize your videos for search:

Use Descriptive And Keyword-Rich Titles

Your video appears in search with thousands of other videos. Your title needs to communicate your video content. Ensure you use your main keyword in the title tag with text that tells the searcher they need to watch your video.

Put your main keyword at the beginning of your title. I don’t recommend using long title tags. Try to keep your title short and to the point.

Write Detailed Descriptions

Your video description needs to tell the watcher everything included in your video. It should also include links to products or websites you talk about in your video.

I recommend adding timestamps to your video. Short videos are preferred, but that doesn’t mean long videos don’t work. Include timestamps and let the watcher decide what part of the video they want to watch.

Create An Engaging Thumbnail

Thumbnails are essential for promoting your video. When videos appear in YouTube search, creative images attract attention.

I recommend using Canva to create your thumbnails. Canva is free and has hundreds of templates to edit and use for your channel.

#3 – Create A Channel Trailer

When people visit your YouTube channel, your channel trailer plays automatically. It is a chance to introduce yourself and your channel’s contents.

Here are twelve top tips by Wordstream on creating a trailer for your YouTube channel.

Your channel trailer should be short and to the point. It gives viewers a taste of what they can expect from your channel and encourage them to stay.

To create an effective channel trailer, start by brainstorming a list of potential topics. Once you have a few ideas, narrow them down to the one you think will be most impactful.

#4 – Engage With Your Viewers

Engaging with your viewers is an excellent way to build a community. When you take the time to respond to comments and questions, you show your audience that you value their input.

Engaging with your viewers also helps build rapport and trust. Building trust is essential if you want people to subscribe and return to watch more videos.

You can also download your YouTube video by transferring it from youtube to mp3 format. You or your clients can have offline access to your videos.

There are a few different ways you can engage with your viewers:

Respond To Comments

When you start your YouTube channel, I recommend replying to all comments. Interacting with your audience encourages them to stay and watch more of your videos.

Many will want to say thank you for your informative content. Acknowledge the comment with a like and a thank you.

With abusive comments, you can delete and block them before publishing them to your channel.

Ask Questions

To encourage comments on your videos, I recommend asking your audience a question or two in your video. YouTube checks for interaction in the comments section. Videos with audience interaction are likely to get promoted in YouTube searches.

Host Live Chats Or Q&As

As your community grows, open an opportunity for your audience to connect with you. Start a live stream for your subscribers to ask you questions or have a general chat about something important in your niche.

When your audience trusts you, they might purchase products and services you recommend in your videos.

By following these tips, you can create a successful YouTube channel. YouTube is a powerful tool for promoting your brand or business.
